Green Day are one of the biggest rock/punk bands in the world having sold over 50 million records and have several brilliant albums including Dookie, Nimrod and American Idiot. The music of American Idiot is more mainstream than the older albums which are more punk orientated, Dookie is Green Day's best album but American Idiot is very good and is more likely to appeal to general rock fans. Green Day are from California and have three members which are Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals, lead guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass and backing vocals), and Tré Cool (drums and backing vocals).
